What’s your love story? I bet we all have different ones. And sometimes, many and not just one (I’m not promoting infidelity. So please read on…). Love keeps you warm, keeps you alive, and keeps you hopeful. Thus, you need to love yourself too.

Sometime ago, a friend asked me, “What is love?”. A big question, and a difficult one to answer by little me. I think, generally, love is when you share an important part of yourself with someone. It may only be a part, and not the whole, as we ourselves may not know what our whole is like. With this, I think love takes many forms – Father and child, parent and child, husband and wife, siblings, friends, lovers, work partners, and one-sided admiration. The word is ‘share’, meaning ‘give and receive’, and not ‘taking’ all the time. Give selflessly without contemplating and calculating what you will receive in return. Receive without guilt, without taking it for granted, and with heartfelt gratitude and humility.

This Valentine’s Day, celebrate love. Not just BF-GF love, husband-wife love, but the people whom you love, and who love you.

{ clouds and tooth } September 16, 2009

I remember when I first lost my first tooth that it was a cloudy day. I was standing by the gate, and staring at the sky with a string from my mouth. Being too afraid to visit the dentist, my traditional parents did the traditional thing of tying my very shaky tooth to a string. The other end was tied to the grilles of the gate and with one fast motion, my Daddy pulled open the gate and I remembered wailing like a little baby. Luckily, my Daddy was there to comfort me and gave me a cotton wool to bite on.

The evening then saw showers and a nice balmy night for sleeping (without a threatening tooth). Now, I still look at the clouds and think of that day (aka my 1st experience of extracting a tooth).

I wish it will rain soon…

Always trying to make unique pieces that we would wear ourselves and go beyond the run-of-the-mills accessories (‘thinking crazily’ is part of the motto), this series birth from the emotions felt, the experiences shared, and the lifestyles intertwined. Finding words to express ourselves don’t always come easy for most, and sometimes, even difficult to utter. But, that doesn’t mean we don’t feel it. Thinking that, this series celebrate both our individuality, as well as community of shared thoughts and feelings. Express yourself!
