Trying to keep this elation and happiness under wraps is not easy. These 3 days, I’m restless…gleefully restless. After the official news is out that pling is a finalist in the Singapore Blog Awards 2010 for Best e-Commerce Blog, I so wanted to celebrate!

 

I’m one for celebrating life’s every little success or happiness – even if you think the achievement is puny. There is too much unhappiness in the world, that are beyond our control – natural disasters, death, cruelty, corporate greed, and the like. So, make merry and give yourself a pat on the back whenever you are blessed with favor!

 

Whether pling wins this or not is secondary now. It’s still an achievement for pling. And I’m very blessed to have the support of family, friends, customers, and you, who is reading this now.

 

A bottle of wine tastes best when shared with loved ones, and people who sustain you, who share your joys and your sorrows, and who are by your side when you need them. So, here’s Happiness…unbottled and shared!

pling is selected as one of the Top 10 Finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2010 for Best e-Commerce Blog!

Woohoo~!

 

The news came yesterday, and immediately I shared this on the FB page. I was letting this sink into my system, so that I can write with some sense today. Yes, I’m that excited. Somehow, I still can’t believe it. I’m not exaggerating, because there are really a lot of good blogshops out there, and pling is a humble start-up – doing our thing quietly and surely, and hoping to share good work with everyone.

 

If you are reading this, I’m asking for your support to vote for pling in the Best e-Commerce category. Each person can vote 1 time per day. If you could spare a few minutes of your time every day to click onto the website to vote for me, I would be very thankful! ^^

Now, sharing my small, but sustainable efforts in the Earth movement… It’s easy! And I manage to influence some of my pals, and the mothers and aunties in my neighborhood – a lot of them have started using recycling bags for their groceries shopping! No more plastic bags!

 

Small actions, big difference:

1. Bring a reusable bag every day – you don’t know when you will shop or do groceries!

2. Recycle. Separate your paper waste and plastic bottles, dump them in separate bags, and bring to the nearest recycling centre every week.

3. Buy value packs of cleaning agents. Not only do you reduce usage of plastic containers, you save $ too.

4. Use the water from washing rice and vegetables to water my plants and my organic chili plant.

5. pling doesn’t use styrofoam or plastic in the packaging of our pieces. You have a silk organza pouch which you can reuse to store other trinkets.

6. Use natural, plants-only skincare. Through transdermal absorption, a high percentage of whatever you apply to your skin is absorbed. Chronic use of chemical laden ingredients will cause the body to store the chemicals. Do you really want that? And, a BIG ‘No!’ to animal testing!

Hello lovelies! I’m so excited to share this piece of news with you. I’m sure some of you have already heard some hints from me, especially if you have recently purchased something from pling. (Good things must share!)

 

pling has its first little foray into retail. We are now at friends!

 

Do drop by and check us out. Feel and try some of the pieces which are displayed there. (Due to space constraints, the full collection can be found here.) Say “Hi!” to the amiable and helpful Stella while you immerse in retail therapy.

 

friends is located at 44 Haji Lane. Step into six:love (the building exterior is in purple, so you can’t miss it~!) and ascend the stairs to Level 2. friends is open everyday from 2pm to 9pm.

Finally, pling is up and running…and incorporated!

 

For some of my old-time customers (and soon-to-be clients), this was a long wait. But definitely not a wait in vain. 🙂 With this site, pling is dedicated to bring you more products, ranging from necklaces, earrings, rings to makeup and beauty products that you cannot find in our little island of Singapore but have received rave reviews from users in Taiwan, Japan or Korea. There will also be more regular product updates, so do remember to check back into this site!

 

pling is also proud to bring you some handmade goodies, which I would upload in progression. They range from carefully handcrafted accessories & scarves to laptop bags that are custom-made to your lappy’s needs. We’ll continue to be inspired by our everyday life, the movies and music we watch & listen to, and of course, the people we are fortunate to meet with in our short stay here on Earth. By translating these inspirations into things that you can wear, pling hopes that you can express your individuality & beauty.
